If you want to know about the little tick boxes that have appeared under all my posts then you might like to go and look at Polenth's Quill which is where I found out about them. Polenth's explanation about how to insert them in a Blogger blog is much better than anything I could write.

I'm not sure if I'll keep them. I think it depends on whether anyone uses them.

I love using shiny as an adjective for fantastic. It's just another form of brilliant isn't it. Do I detect another Firefly fan?

I wondered who would spot the references. I loved the series and the movie. I wish they hadn't cut it.

And I think 'shiny' stands alone anyway - as you say it's a synonym for brilliant. I'm not sure everyone will get 'goram' though,

Shiny. As are all your posts.

Yay for links! I've used shiny since way before Firefly, which causes confusion sometimes. People think I'm making a clever reference when I'm just being randomly shiny. Anyway, another shiny for you.

Ooh, I selected both shiny and peachy. Would that make it nectariny?

Freddie: Aw, thanks.

Polenth: That must be convergent evolution or maybe Firefly stole your word.

Pjd: "Nectariny" made me laugh. Good job I'd finished my coffee.

Just popping in to check on that awesome word count. You're ahead of where I was at this point in the month and I finished with more than 51,000 words. The one thing they neglect to emphasize with the NaNo is 'finishing' the story. Took me a bit more words to finish the story.

Hi Sarah,

I'm afraid the "awesome word count" may well stop there. I would like to finish the story and I hope I do but I can't see 50k by the end of November.

Oddly enough, weekends are the worst because then I do stuff with my husband and sometimes with the boys and their partners. Also, the whole Dvorak, CFS/thyroid thing is taking its toll.

Whatever happens, I've got the start of a story that's worth finishing and I've learnt a lot about how not to write!

Thanks for your encouragement.

My first drafts are always bad but I have longer to sort them out because I'm not doing them for a course.
