Sleep shall be no more.

We've got kittens. (That's for anyone who hasn't been following this blog.) They are cute, adorable and wonderful. Just now, Rufus is prowling around on my desk, trying to eat my webcam after knocking as many things to the floor as possible. Yesterday he was helping me by chasing the cursor around on my screen. Both kittens have had a wonderful time with the net curtains which I've had to knot up out of the way.

Last night they came onto my bed. (The cats I mean, not the curtains.) There isn't a lot of room in the bed with two adults in it but there is room for one cat, although these two are still so little I'm afraid I'll roll onto them and hurt them. Rufus cuddled up to me and snuggled against my feet. It tickled so I moved my feet. He did it again so this time I moved him. He curled up by my leg. Aw, sweet. He started nibbling my leg and using his claws on it. Not so sweet. I stopped him and he did it again.

Last night Bonnie and Rufus were shut out of my bedroom at 2am. I am a hard, cruel woman.

When I had 3 cats, I used to let them sleep on the bed — until one of them took to digging her claws into my toes dead on 4am every morning.

I love sleeping with cats but not when they claw me in the small hours of the morning.

We used to have a cat that played "toe fishing" by clawing under the duvet for our toes but at least he didn't do it in the middle of the night.

Ah, the memories of nocturnal kittens.

They don't even remember anything in the morning. They will still love you.

You're right freddie! I had an exhausted day yesterday but they were happy and lively.

They are so cute!

LOL

This is why I adopt older cats and steer clear of the wee ones. They don't know the word 'no'. They play incessantly. They climb the curtains. They attack you in the middle of the night - over and over again.

Yep. Older cats!

Oh, I was going to adopt two older cats, Sarah, I was so going to. And then my dearest friend went and had kittens and I couldn't resist them.

Actually, even after only a week and a half they seem to be settling in. They sleep round my computer while I surf the net, which is lovely.

Is the orange one Rufus? I had a wonderful kitty names Rufus when I was a little girl who looked just like that.

We thought he was very, very stupid because he was always running into walls and falling down stairs, until we figured out he was blind. He was always one of my favorites!

All of these cat posts are making me so sad that my son is allergic...

Yes, Rufus is the ginger one. He's a little tearaway!

What a shame that your son is allergic. I do like having cats around.

I'm melting again. I know they are causing havoc but just LOOK at them.

Someone bring a mop.

There are more pictures and a couple of videos on my other blog.

Now that they are settling in they are little darlings.

Thanks, Lily. They were adorable when they were tiny but they're less work now! Rufus is my favourite - I can't help it, he just thinks I'm his Mummy! Bonnie thinks Carly (my daughter-in-law) is her Mummy instead.
