Dvorak

I am trying out the Dvorak keyboard layout. It's very slow because I'm not used to it yet. Expect fewer posts until I master it or get bored.

I got the idea from Holly Lisle.

I've heard of this, but I haven't ever actually seen one before. But it looks like an evil plot to reduce use of the semicolon.

In theory it makes typing less effortful, after the initial learning curve. I'll let you know.

I learned something new today!

Do keep us posted on your learning curve. The keyboard does look intriguing.

I'll let you know how I get on.

The biggest challenge at the moment is that the 'n' on my keyboard was sticking so I've swapped to an old ergonomic keyboard; so it's two learning curves at once.

I am currently managing 10 words a minute instead of my usual 40v

Oh wow. Good luck relearning how to type and I hope you only use your own computer...switching back and forth between keyboards would get confusing. It's an interesting concept and would've been nice to learn years ago....but I type around 120 words a minute usually, so relearning to type would slow me way down, haha.

Good grief, Jessi, that's fast. I was only managing 40 words a minute before I started this!

I've read that it's quite easy to switch back if you need to but that no one usually wants to.
