There's a new website called Lost Book Sales where readers can explain why they didn't buy a particular book and what they did instead. There are many cases of "It wasn't available digitally in my region so I got a copy from the library/bought a second-hand copy instead".
Wouldn't it be nice if publishers took notice?

I had a quick browse - the comments seem to be mainly those already keen to purchase digitally (under resources).
I was hoping it would be some person with a clipboard pouncing on someone browsing a paperback then returning it to the shelves at waterstones and then being asked why they didn't want to buy it? Or something like that! LOL!! Take care

Oh how interesting. Some of the books I want to buy are out of print/circulation - which makes me head to second-hand shops, which means a lost sale for someone (although sale for the second-hand store of course!). Will bookmark this site - cheers for pointing it out.

Oh my Goodness! Is that your table, Prickles? When do you find time to read all that *and* write! And blog (checks own, pathetic, whiny, non-blog blog and cringes). Do you sleep?

I do three half hour slots a day of writing. I have plenty of time because I'm not working because of the CFS. On the other hand I have very little energy and I have to pace myself. Other jobs just aren't getting done!
I wish publishers would take notice too. I work in the toy industry (not publishing but similar) and my company is so resistant to digital efforts and the like. These companies need to embrace the future! In the meantime, I have to check out that site, sounds really interesting. Thanks!
I think some book publishers are secretly hoping that ebooks will go away! I think the ones that embrace the new technology are much more sensible.
