Pacing myself

Romeo, Romeo, WTF Romeo?, after William Powell Frith
I'm pacing myself today. After overdoing it yesterday morning and leaving myself a crumpled heap for the rest of the day, I've decided on half hour stints only. That's 700 words at a time, give or take a few.

It's very satisfying to see the word count go up and it's great fun being self-indulgent and writing exactly what I want to write even if no one will ever want to read it! I'm currently describing alien food and it reminds me a bit of Enid Blyton, and the the Tooth Fairy stories I used to tell my kids when they were little.

You are doing so well! You are an inspiration...I'm hurrying to catch up with you hehe - I am over the the wordcount needed so far, so going good at the moment...keep up the good work and I agree, pacing yourself is a good idea, no burn-out that way.

WELL DONE YOU!

That sounds like fun! I'm happy that you are enjoying yourself in this great challenge. :) All the very best for the days to come, and who knows we might even meet up in and around London over a NaNo Write in.

You sound like you're doing great so far. I too put up a widget, but not the calendar one. I'm glad you're pacing yourself.

You mention Enid Blyton. I still have a stack of Noddy books from my childhood, although no one seems to have ever heard of EB and Noddy over here in the US.

Katie, the calendar is just one of the standard Nano widgets but I do like it!

Ana, it would be fun if we did meet up. I mostly go to the Saturday meets - I don't actually have a laptop as yet.

stacy, thank you!

nick, I mostly read The Famous Five and The Secret Seven and there were always lashings of ginger beer!
