The future is happening now.

Did you know you can move objects with your mind? I didn't until I saw this video on Sentient Developments

If you write science fiction you really will enjoy Sentient Developments, including the new feature Yesterday's Tomorrow which features retro visions of the future.

Hehe! I hadn't thought of that!

That is amazing! I have a friend whose daughter is a paraplegic, and the applications of something like this could improve people in her situation immensely.

Could've done with this skill while dancing with a girl called Emma when I was 19.

Elle, I can see how brilliant it would be for someone like your friend's daughter.

Whirl, it's never too late.

So very cool!

Glad you like it, Natalie!

wicked cool. I want one, but only to show my children how bad they are at concentrating on one thing at a time. That said, they'd probably pop the ball out the top of the tube while I couldn't even get the air to turn on.

fairyhedgehog said...

Sadly that is what happens when you try to put one over one your kids.

Do you remember those early video games that allowed you to bat a "ball" back and forth across your telly screen. They kept us enthralled for hours in the 70s, despite their crudeness and of course they led to where we are today with video and games technology and CGI. I imagine the future of these could lead us anywhere.

Did anyone see what became of the human race in the film WallE?

BTW - is there any way to get updates to email me from your new whizzy dizzy comments section?

That's a good point, Jane.

I wonder what I've done with the comments section.

Damn. I hope I don't need to reinstall the whole thing again!

fairyhedgehog said...

Is that better for comments?

JaneyV said...

Oh Yes! Thank you - didn't mean to put you to any trouble - but I'm very glad you did! ;0)

fairyhedgehog said...

No, I'm glad you said because I'm guessing other people were having the same issue.

It turned out to be a simple setting after all.

Very intriguing, but I also can't help but think there are huge scam possibilities here. Think Oija (?) board. It "read our mind" but periodically puffing the ball up whenever it's placed on something that's head shaped.

But, hey, I read papers every couple weeks that depend upon reading the electrical impulses of the brain, so why not?

fairyhedgehog said...

I never thought about it being a scam.

I was more thinking that you can get computer games now that work on biofeedback - I think those ones measure your pulse. It's all quite plausible, more so than an ouija board anyway!

You know I've been over here several times to look at this and still haven't done it. So at least I'm commenting and now I'll try and watch this.

fairyhedgehog said...

I hope you do, Sarah. I must admit I often skip videos in people's blogs.

I think the first tiem I was here, the player didn't want to load. But yes, I watched it. Very interesting, but not worth my $100.

fairyhedgehog said...

I agree it's not worth $100. It's more of a science demonstration than a toy and after you've tried it once I can't see the game play in it.
