Inspired by Kevin Musgrove I thought I'd bring you one of my favourite pieces of music. It was the first single I ever bought, back in the days when hardly anyone could afford to buy a whole album.
I'd like to say that my musical taste was always up to this standard. Just imagine it is, OK?
The original video was removed by YouTube for copyright problems. This podbean is based on an mp3 that I bought.

I Love this piece of music. For me it evokes a quiet tropical beach (desert island getaway maybe?), lapping waves and utter peace. Hubby walked in while I was playing it and said "Oh this reminds me of my childhood". It's clearly a piece of music that speaks.
The animation was stunning. Very Hemmingway-esque!
It has a nostalgic quality to it. Music - and smells - are their own time machines. They take us back, whether we want to go or not.
I had never heard this before. I like it. It's good music for thinking - writing.
Janey: It really does evoke a tropical island for me too. I'm glad you liked the animation, it was my favourite of the ones on offer.
BBJD: It's very nostalgic for me: it brings back my teens and watching Top of the Pops with my Mum. Glad you like it.
Now there's a blast from the past! Lovely stuff.
i don't have a favourite piece of music yet but i like playing the guzheng.
What's a guzheng?
By the way. It looks like you made a link to YouTube. How is that done?
To get YouTube on your blog:
Go to YouTube and choose the video you want. At the top right of the video you'll find a grey rectangle with options including a yellow "Subscribe" button, the URL, and "Embed" followed by html code. Copy the Embed code (select it with your mouse then click Ctrl + C) then paste it into your Blogger post (using Ctrl + V).
Et voilà!
Thanks. Like most things, impossible when ignorant, but simple when knowledge is acquired.
So soothing.
The first bit of music I ever bought was a cassette tape of Louis Armstrong's "It's A Wonderful World". Which gives me an idea for tomorrow's post. hmmmm
Thank you for checking on me.
Smooch!!

So nice to see you around. "It's a Wonderful World" was a good first choice of record.
Smooches back with added hugs.
Ooooh. Just had a listen. This was so relaxing. Thanks!
I agree with Janey - The Old Man and The Sea was where my mind went with the animation...
Here's the thing, I'm definitely from the Fleetwood Mac days, but I don't remember this piece of music.
Was this some of their early music, before the group changed around and went more pop?
Robin I don't know any of their other music. It was 1969 and I was watching Top of the Pops with my sister and mother and doing the ironing when Albatross came on and I was entranced.
Great post, sweet music, great clip -- and thanks for the tutorial on embedding a YouTube clip.
But . . . no Swedish rock? Not even the Tickies?
Ah. OK- I didn't hear about Fleetwood Mac until Hypnotized times.
Timothy: I have nothing to approach the wonder of the Tickies. If anyone has missed your recent post I encourage them to pop over and have a look.
Robin: I had to google Hypnotised. It's another laid-back piece of music but I prefer Albatross.
