Lost in an alternate reality

I've been drawn into a murky world of intrigue in an old London that has been stolen away from our own. I am playing as a charming and watchful individual of mysterious and indistinct gender. I have seduced a painter and his model, I am trying to find a card game that may cost me my soul, and I need someone to help me with the nightmares.

I blame Sylvia myself. (She tweeted about it and I couldn't resist.) If you enjoy language or steampunk or interactive stories you might like it. You need a Twitter account to log in and it's worth setting one up just for this game.

I can't stop now, I need to catch a tabby cat in the alleys of the city. I'll be in Echo Bazaar if you need me!

What;s going on?

I'm sorry, being twitterless I'm absolutely no good to you whatsoever!

LOL!

It sounds like fun tho.

Take care

It's a fun game. Well, I think it is. You only really need to join Twitter in order to log on to Echo Bazaar.

It does sound fun! I'm staying away, though, or I'll be addicted to it, in that 'addicted to it so I don't finish editing' kind of a way...

Robin, that's always a worry! It does have a cap on the number of actions you can do in a day, so maybe that will help keep me from the worst excesses. But I'm not in the middle of major revisions!

I'm with Robin. Sounds like too much fun.

Whirl, that's a contradiction in terms! You can't have too many books, or too much fun.

I love it. It's been developed by two people (the head developer is a woman!) who are really friendly and involved.

I'm writing a longer review of it for my blog - I'll let you know when it's done. But it really is quite amazing. I have two friends who have signed up to twitter solely to play this game.

(They are looking into tying in with other social networks, including Facebook, but the fact is they want a ready-made chat system for players to communicate and Twitter fits the bill)

It limits your turn taking so it isn't the kind of thing you can sit down and play all day, thank goodness. Otherwise I'd be in real trouble :)

Sylvia, I guessed you liked the game, seeing it was you that got me into it! It's wonderfully atmospheric and I'll look forward to reading your review of it.
