Guess which cat came in limping yesterday? *Rufus*
He was clearly in a lot of pain, hissing at me when I went near the foot but not scratching as he usually does. The vet said it might be broken so we had to pay for sedation and x-rays but luckily it was just very badly swollen. He has Metacam for the swelling and pain and is being very unpleasant to his sister now that he's feeling a bit better. I'm not going to let him out while he's on painkillers, so that means five days indoors.
Guess which cat stepped in something nasty and then trod it all over my bed? I had to change the bed, spot clean the carpet and wash the cat's feet, all before breakfast. *Bonnie*
Guess who is wondering why on earth she ever wanted cats in the first place?
*Me*

It's no fun when they're ill — and even less when their bums produce pan-abode slurry.
Ugh - what a pain! I hate having to work before breakfast. But it's good to know his foot isn't broken, or the recovery would be longer and more complex.
Here's hoping tomorrow is better!
Poor Rufus. Poor Bonnie. Poor Fairy.
Yuck for all! Sorry about that, FH!
Whirl: you sum it up admirably as usual.
freddie: Today has been better and they've both been behaving.
Bevie: Thank you!
Robin: Thank you, too!
Cats are the best - nothing like their sweet purring to calm your nerves! ALL worth it!
(My babies have broken two planters, pull silk flowers out of arrangements causing me to hide some, put claw marks on new wood dresser, claw marks on wood floor . . . sigh - Love them though I do!)
My sister found this little saying:
Until you loved a pet, a part of your soul remains unawakened.
I'd also like to believe that those who love their pets are the more generous and caring.
Lisa: I'm glad to see you back again!
They are sweet cats, especially when Bonnie comes on my bed to ask for breakfast and rubs her head against me and purrs.
Rufus is still on antibiotics, Metacam and ointment for his foot. It's taking a long time to get better.
I'd like to believe that pet owners are nicer people but I'm not sure. I just know that my two have me well trained.
