Don't be afraid to go out in the rain. When you're cold and wet just find a handy human to jump up on; they will warm you up nicely and you can wipe the mud off on them.

Magic has developed a way of doing this by proxy.
He comes back wet and climbs onto the humans' *bed* or *chair* instead of directly onto the human.
This ensures they get a cold soggy surprise when they're at their most vulnerable.
And he can get more than one at a time with no extra effort.
Charlie agrees. He also says that it's so handy to use a freshly made bed to wipe one's muddy paws on - especially if the bed linen is 100% white cotton from Laura Ashley.

Richard, at least I get some warning and can often grab a towel first!
I'm not sure you needed to blog that. It's already instinctive to all cats!
Simon, it's not my fault, Rufus hijacked my blog!

Take care

Kitty, Charlie obviously has the right idea!
Further down the list, of course, is 'do not be afraid to sleep in the fridge'...
If that's advice to cats, I think you're preaching to the choir!
Aaaaahw the things we put up with from our lovely pets...
Whirl, don't give him ideas!
jj, I blame Rufus myself.
lilyrazz, we do indeed!
