Bank Holiday Monday
It didn't rain! Well, a bit of drizzle first thing doesn't count, not for a Bank Holiday in England.
So my daughter-in-law and I went to the Surrey County Show and saw chickens and horses and birds of prey and lots and lots of dogs. My daughter-in-law is a great animal lover so she was thrilled, especially when a puppy jumped into her arms!
They had stalls for clothes and toys and solar panels and masses of cars. I bought some sandals, which probably sounds boring but when you have wide feet getting shoes that fit is a big deal. One year they had a telegraph pole set up for climbing and I went to the top of it but there was nothing like that this year.
We ate lunch in the bar tent. There's something about the smell of grass under canvas; I suppose it brings back memories of camping when the kids were small.
I hope you all had a good Monday, whether it was Bank Holiday for you or not. And happy holidays to all the families who have half term this week!
(I didn't remember to take any photos so the one above is off the official website. I hope they won't mind!)

It poured down in Leicestershire!
Ah well. I'm sorting boxes out and got a lot done - not that you can see where the space is yet, but I'm working on it.
MAJ, it sounds like you had a more productive day than I did, even if it was less fun!
I also had a proper bank holiday. Wind and a bit of rain... and did I mention it was also cold?
I slobbed around and did nothing productive!
Sx
Miss Scarlet, now that's what a British Bank Holiday is supposed to look like!
I think we've had our summer. I hope you didn't blink and miss it.
It poured here after about 3 pm when Charlie toddled in all wet and muddy and wet! LOL!!!
Yay for a fab bank holiday!! Awww the County Show looks like such fun!! and you got sandals - which is a fab thing to get!! Did a puppy come home with your daughter in law too?!?! :-)
Roll on August bank holiday! Take care

I count any day a good day when a puppy jumps into your arms. Here's to more puppies in all our lives. Or kittens. I don't discriminate.
I'd like a jumping puppy, too.
I was working on a 5.25" wax plaque of The Dying Cuchulain yesterday, a rush job. But cycling in to work was lovely, with no cars at all.
I haven't been to a single fete this year.
I miss all those Save The Bumble Bee and Poke The Rustic Old Lady stalls.
Kitty, I bet Charlie jumped on your lap to get warm! That's what Rufus always does!
Phoenix, puppies and kittens are both good!
Lexi, I'm amazed at the wax plaque. I hope you'll post a photo.
Whirl, the Rustic Old Ladies were both trying to sell self-published books, so times move on!
I just have this vision of an FH on a stick... and the image won't go away...
(Captcha is sparri lol )
Sorry, Richard. I'll try and find some mind bleach to send you.
