To a green thought in a green shade.*
We went to Claremont Landscape Garden today and wandered through the rhododendrons. We are so lucky having so much greenery so near to us.
It was just the place to have a Sunday afternoon snooze under the trees.
So we did.

I love the castle/keep/cool building in the distance in that last shot.
jj, isn't it gorgeous?
A beautiful spot to be sure!
Just one amendment I would make to this:
We are so lucky having so much greenery so near to us.
I would add:
That someone else maintains.
:o)

Phoenix, you're absolutely right!
Thanks for the link to the poem! It's a lovely poem - I was intrigued by the brutality of the word "annihalate" to something so innocuous as "a green shade" - now I know!
Beautiful pics of a fab landscaped garden. Today was definitely a day for snoozing under the shade of a tree - rather than Saturday!
Take care

It looks beautiful. Phoenix's correction did make me laugh.
gorgeous. was there a nice cafe to enjoy a tea/coffee and a treat of some kind? I so enjoyed touring castles and historic homes in England (and many parts of europe) most always a nice place for tea nearby.
Kitty, I'm glad you like the poem.
sylvia, "it's funny because it's true"!
Lisa, they advertised that the tea room was open all day for Father's Day but in fact it was closed for renovations! We went to a local pub to get lunch.
So beautiful--and a balm.
Bernita, it is indeed!
So beautiful and tranquil.
nytebird, it really was as lovely as it looks.
