We never met

I can't help thinking about the charming book 84 Charing Cross Road. It's the correspondence between an American lady and an English bookseller, mostly about books. Sadly, they never met.

Just like me and Bevie. We only knew each other online for a year and a half but we got so much talking done in that time. When I checked back to see how long we'd been writing to each other I was amazed that it wasn't longer. We wrote every day. He was one of my closest friends. I'm finding it hard to take in that he's gone.

You may notice I'm not answering comments at the moment but I am reading them. That's about all I can manage for now.

I know myself the deep and abiding affection one developes for blog friends - which is no less real for lack of face-to-face meeting.

I am sorry for your loss also - it did seem sudden and I believe he was young(ish) which just makes it all the more difficult to deal with.
At one point Bevie and I had communicated more, but I don't blog as much as I used. It will take you some time, surround yourself with your cats and your friends. Big hug

Oh fairyhedgehog!
I just realised (sorry I'm a bit slow about these things) that he was Firestar's human friend. :-(

Oh dear. I enjoyed his Firestar posts.

Please take care and once again please pass on my deepest sympathies to his family.

Take care
x

In this still relatively new age of the Internet, it is amazing how we can form virtual friendships like we do. Unfortunately, the pain of losing a virtual friend is remarkably REAL. I'm sorry for your loss.

It's hard, but hand in there! Big hugs from me, too.

Bevie was always a regular posting here - I find myself still looking for his kitty avatar to see what he has to say.

I don't have much else to say but to give you a big hug. I know you're hurting right now.

Bernita, as usual, my friend, you said it well, and beautifully.

I really think it's important to remember the friendships we make here, after developing relationships based on camaraderie begun from shared interests, aren't virtual.
