I even once received a fan mail that said ‘thank God, finally a man writes a male pov. Women can’t do it.’
Of course they can't.
It's so lovely to see the stereotype being proved wrong.

It still upsets me to think that JK Rowling had to be JK Rowling and not Joanne Rowling because her publishers thought a woman writing for kids about wizards wouldn't be taken seriously or sell as much to the kiddies.
Horrifying.
And very very wrong! And to think this still happens in this day and age.. grrrrrr!

We should start making up pseudonyms the way companies do:
Ajilon Sysco
Agilent Accenture
Initech Initrode
They make no sense AND they're gender neutral. I think I'll be Logisys Covansys. (Almost sounds like latin, doesn't it?)
Kate (or should I say Logisys?) that's a brilliant idea! We could even use names straight out of our spam folder. I did start a story once starring Matrix Direct and Halloween Candy but I never finished it.
And I'd put down good money that if the pseudonym had been female, that person would have thought she "got it all wrong." Sigh.

Simon, I wonder if you come up against prejudices based on the fact that there seem to be more women writing than men?
Unfortunately, so many people will always judge a book by it's cover, so to speak.
Glad to know that there are others out there, that don't!
