A Day In Hand: Today!

Today is A Day In Hand Day. I said I'd remind you.

Well I'm unlikely to see anyone (other than Hubby and the nippers) today. But I would like to virtually offer my hand to you hold in support of spreading the acceptance of the universal showing of affection.

That's cool, Jane. A virtual hand holding it is!

Oh! That is today. And here we are being homebodies. We held hands yesterday at the Solar Powered World Fest, but it was too hot to do it for long.

Today, we've been discussing what we will do if they decide our marriage is null and void. The decision is coming up within the next couple of weeks. I also realized last night that I don't have any desire to leave this state right now as I don't want to spend a single moment not being married. I think I feel a blog post coming on.

Here's my hand, ladies. Happy to join in the virtual affection.

It's so awful that you have to be on tenterhooks about whether your marriage is going to be annulled.

Another virtual handclasp coming up!

Handholding it is - with people you care about and love- how can that be wrong?

Not that I've done it today. My big excursion was to pick my Beloved up from the airport.

I do think it's a great idea though.

Hi there!
I'm glad you posted this pic. Jay and Fionn are two trans men. They talked about how when they were women they were much able to show affection toward other men publicly, but since their transition they have had to cope with a loss of public physical affection amongst their male friends and in Jay's case, his dad.

Thanks for the background, David.

I had a feeling it must be harder for men than for women to show affection publicly.

I definitely think it's easier and more accepted for women to show their affection in public. I can't even imagine what it's like for two gay/trans men to be out in public, especially in areas that aren't accepting of it at all. Breaks my heart.

I remember this terrific idea; sadly I did not remember on the day - but still think it's a fab idea. I did happen to hold my daughter's hand a lot, though...

Interesting info on the photo. Want to know my heterosexual female thoughts when I saw it?! 'Hot', that's what I thought...

fairyhedgehog said...

Jessi: at least there is hope that things are changing.

McK: They are good-looking guys, I agree. I thought it was a wonderful picture and there are lots more on the A Day In Hand website.

I think I'm late...!
Anyhow, people are always grabbing hold of my mind, men, women... usually to help me cross the road. I have that helpless 'thing' going on with me...
Sx

fairyhedgehog said...

They can find your mind? Oh, you mean your hand.

I'm sure it's your sheer lovliness that makes them grab onto you.

I'm late... is one of you blokes gonna hold my virtual hand so I don't cry?

Off-topic, a short joke...Just heard that my mother has been arrested for streaking at the Chelsea flower show!!

On the bright side she won first prize for her dried arrangement.

fairyhedgehog said...

That's evil, Richard. The joke, not the handholding. I can't offer to hold hands with you in a same-gender way for obvious reasons.

Hmmm...

Strange...

Not same.
Weird.

Well done, Richard. I knew you'd work it out in the end.
