I've written seven 50k stories and one of 24k during previous Nanowrimos and they all languish unedited. I think it's time to change that so this year I'm not going to be nanoing, I'm going to be editing.
It's going to be hard because, hey, 50,000 words! That's a lot of words to edit! And also I love seeing my word count going up during Nano and I won't be doing that this year. I won't get a purple bar either. So maybe I won't stay motivated but I think it's worth a try.

I admire your courage. Almost as much as your crochet. Did I mention I played crochet? Comes from drinking too much Pimms on Summer lawns. Which is why I'm never at NaNo booze-ups.
Happy editing!
Oh for Pimms on summer lawns! Beats editing in November any day.
Editing is a good idea, FH. I would start by designing yourself a few awards for when you finish :o)
That's a great idea, Lexi! I may just do that.
I quite enjoy counting how many words I've edited too...
Simon, I'm not sure how I'd do that. I see myself hacking the story around quite a bit because I'm interested in overall pacing rather than a line edit. If I wasn't a pantser I might have less to do (but if I wasn't pantsing I wouldn't have written anything at all).
But I don't really know what I'm doing because I've never edited anything this long before!
Yay! I'm also planning on not participating in Nano in favor of editing. Sounds like we're in good company. Good luck!
Landra, we can cheer each other on! What are you planning on editing?
I'm doing NaNo again. I'm still revising my 2011 win, and enjoying the process.
Debbie, you're a better person than I am to both revise and write a new one this year!
