Valentine's Day is great for greeting card manufacturers and couples who are in love but it can be a very painful time for people who aren't in a romantic relationship.
Kristen has a great list of people who might not be celebrating Valentine's Day, including
A person with a broken heart who is sobbing.and
A person who is simply too tired to care about Valentine's Day because her twin toddlers are sticking macaroni up their noses AGAIN.
Here's to 14th February as Interplanetary Be Who You Are Day. Or maybe it could be Reach Out And Hug A Friend Day.

Hi
It's also Chinese New Year! The Year of the Tiger. Roar.
:-)
Personally, I like to call tomorrow, "Happy Give Me Chocolate in whatever shape Day".
Take care

I'd be happy to call every day "Happy give me chocolate in whatever shape day".
I hope the greeting card industry doesn't hear about this. They've been complaining that people only give a few cards (paramour or spouse and maybe mom) per Feb 14th. They'll want us to give one to everyone who needs to be who they are.
Oh - I like the idea of 'Happy Give Me Chocolate in whatever shape Day'.
It's always worth bearing in mind.
Yesterday, my mobile hairdresser came to administer the chop to Famille Whirl.
As the nights are getting longer, it was still light, so I effused about the delights of "spring coming on" — things like Shrove Tuesday, and Valentine's Day, oh yes, Valentine's Day...
Turns out she's just been dumped by her bloke 1 month after they'd bought a new house together.
Yipes.
So Whirlochre what's the hair situation like in your family today!
Happy Give Me Chocolate in whatever shape Day, sounds like my kind of day.
I like Interplanetary Be Who You Are Day. Even as a Single Person, I'm not a big fan of the anti-valentine's day stuff. I think v-day can be really beautiful. But I'm also really okay being single right now. So the whole Interplanetary Be Who You Are Day is really appealing to me. It's nice to think of a day to celebrate being me. :-)
Kitty, rraarrgh to you too! Happy Give Me Chocolate Day is a great idea. I'll sign up for that!
Richard, that sounds like a plan!
David, I hadn't thought of that. Let's keep this one away from the card manufacturers!
Steena and Ann, we've got quite a consensus here for Chocolate Day!
Whirl, that sucks.
Rebecca, I think Kristin's idea is a good one too but I think I like the Interplanetary bit of it best!
