Yay! And as for dolls, when they were at that age, we had a lot of monster high dolls. Green skin, blue hair. Works for me.skaempferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09334150915228638643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8289273.post-4638363860678246962014-03-17T10:04:56.013+00:002014-03-17T10:04:56.013+00:00Simon, everyone should be able to choose pinkness ...Simon, everyone should be able to choose pinkness or not - at the moment it's thrust on girls but boys aren't allowed it. I had to deal recently with a young girl commenting in a disparaging voice about a boy wearing a pink t-shirt.

And also for cars, swords, meccano, dolls... the list is endless because the manufacturers gender everything. And don't get me started on how hard it is to find dolls that aren't blonde and blue-eyed, or action figures that are female, have moveable limbs (that's hard enough to find) and are non-white.

Sorry, rant over. Now I don't mind my daughters embracing "pinkness" if that suits them - one does and one wouldn't be seen dead - but who are these people to choose for them?Simon Kewinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11537163555998763769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8289273.post-73993430745795432292014-03-16T14:45:55.939+00:002014-03-16T14:45:55.939+00:00Oh no Kitty! Apparently not, because we need everything to be "pretty" (read: pink).fairyhedgehoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14141089706966852951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8289273.post-12316905144214360852014-03-16T06:03:51.372+00:002014-03-16T06:03:51.372+00:00“We would never publish a book that demeaned one s... “We would never publish a book that demeaned one sex or the other,” he said.

By titling them the "Beautiful Girls'..." and "Brilliant Boys'..." he already has, and if he doesn't see that, he shouldn't be in charge of anything.
