My problem is always what to do with the drafts afterwards: revising a whole novel is just such a big undertaking. fairyhedgehoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14141089706966852951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8289273.post-37972392768201597142012-10-22T22:55:55.227+01:002012-10-22T22:55:55.227+01:00I did NaNo four times. The next three times were to try to produce something worth publishing. On my fourth try I nearly got it.

But then I decided to write a novel over the course of a year. I knew I could complete the work, and I had built my confidence enough to crush my inner editor during the process. Success. And now I've finished my second year-long novel, which I'll self-publish (hopefully) by the end of the year.

But I'm doing NaNo again. Why? Because I think this time I really can write a sellable novel in a month. That's what I'm trying for. Sure, it'll need serious revision, but that's no different than the ones that took me a year to write.

We will see.

I'm also doing it this year because I'm certifiably insane. Yes, I'd love to get a book published, but for me, getting my stories finished it the greater task.Debbie Coopehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05935744781017341500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8289273.post-87647485256710183462012-10-21T10:24:36.165+01:002012-10-21T10:24:36.165+01:00Kitty, a crocheted chicken suit, what a great idea...Kitty, a crocheted chicken suit, what a great idea! So this time round I'm just going to write as much as I find comfortable.

I'm only doing that much so that I feel justified in coming to all the pub meets; if it wasn't for those I would probably have forgotten all about Nano by now.

(I hope this comment wraps properly when posted, because the preview looks horribly wrong)SillyBoyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17491160471007080779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8289273.post-46485957791984136862012-10-20T15:51:54.554+01:002012-10-20T15:51:54.554+01:00Awwwww!
