Friend and I paid £5.00 to see the Beaton exhibition of photos of the Royal Family, it was worth it.

At the V & A there are signs asking for contributions but no pressure. I am sure they make a lot of money from the shop, the prices in there are eye watering.PixieMumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14717092173188052675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8289273.post-67470839502718020102012-01-15T10:25:04.606+00:002012-01-15T10:25:04.606+00:00MRp, I'm not sure size is terribly important! ...MRp, I'm not sure size is terribly important! It's not huge, by London standards, but I do like it and they have some interesting visiting exibits in addition to the regular collection. I was at the V&A once; there was an enormous Chihuly glass sculpture hanging from the ceiling. It was beautiful.Mother (Re)produces.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07685333905652373606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8289273.post-53677481434717832222012-01-10T20:18:05.939+00:002012-01-10T20:18:05.939+00:00stacy, most of the art galleries are free and som...stacy, most of the art galleries are free and some of the museums: they ask for a donation and suggest an amount, but impoverished students could visit often and not pay if they can't afford it!

Hope you get to see your Art Institute.fairyhedgehoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14141089706966852951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8289273.post-13125920879692276212012-01-10T16:46:14.865+00:002012-01-10T16:46:14.865+00:00I do live in a city with lots of museums. Some of the weird stuff there I really like and the sneering is fun too!

I'm disgusted with the National Gallery for chucking you out because of lack of footwear. How massively stupid. You had even fewer places to hide terrorist weapons of mass destruction than their other visitors, and I thought that was all anyone cared about these days. I'm not surprised you're not keen to go back.fairyhedgehoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14141089706966852951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8289273.post-92110543030830906542012-01-09T22:52:15.223+00:002012-01-09T22:52:15.223+00:00I rather like visiting the Tate Modern. I still have the little newspaper cutout man that I liberated from one of the installations a few years ago.

I did once briefly visit the National Gallery, but I got kicked out for being insufficiently shod, which has left me feeling quite uninterested in returning.SillyBoyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17491160471007080779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8289273.post-85785541307228225592012-01-09T08:21:40.895+00:002012-01-09T08:21:40.895+00:00Kitty, I didn't think it was as well laid out ...Kitty, I didn't think it was as well laid out as the National Gallery but it was well worth a visit.
