Zip!

We were at a 60th birthday party yesterday and it was held in the local adventure playground. What a brilliant idea! There were lots of families with children but it was us over 50s that had the best fun: we almost monopolised the zip line! I went on it 6 or 7 times and I was the only one to fall off. It was amazingly good fun.

If only we could have adult adventure playgrounds instead of gyms I'm sure we'd all be much fitter!

I've often wished adults were allowed to have goes in adventure playgrounds! The ones near me are all quite strict about keeping adults off the equipment, and more sensibly, no entry without a child. Though I have been on a zip line when the daughter was small...

I'm with you on this one--I went to Las Vegas with a friend a few months ago, and despite all the adult entertainment available there, the highlight for me was riding the zipline down Freemont street (although that's adult entertainment too, since they have to strap you into a climbing harness.)

I agree. I'd love to go on a zipline; the nearest thing to flying, I bet.

Kitty, you can just about see the zipline in the second picture: it's a seat hanging from a pulley on a wire. You jump up and get onto a small seat, then woosh down the hill. It stops rather sharply when it hits the buffer at the other end, which is how I fell off the first time!

Lexi, I checked on any weight restrictions when I got there; as it was just our party there were no worries about strange adults, or people being nasty to the children etc. It was wonderful! I also climbed up the climbing frames and went on the swings.

jj, that sounds like a much more impressive zipline! This one was tiny and just had one of those button seats you sometimes get with ski lifts.

Debbie, it was amazing! Although the closes thing to flying for me is probably ice skating!

That sounds like a great time being had by all...

You realise that now I have to find a child-free park with a zip-line, don't you?

Richard, yay! Go for it!

Might be fun for Babs trying to photograph the results... :-)

Just looking over the comment trails for this and the last two posts I see I didn't make a comment! I must be senile, or perhaps I dreamed it (or maybe the internet ate it and I actually *did* write you a note!) but anyway, a hearty congratulations on the job, they are in for a treat :)

Sorry I didn't comment earlier; I read this several days ago when I got back from holiday. Perhaps I left my brain in a glen...

MRp, thank you! The internet does eat comments, I know.
