Married with Zombies

A while back, Evil Editor had Jesse Petersen on his bookchat while we discussed her book Married with Zombies. I couldn't get hold of a copy quickly enough to join in the chat - it wasn't out in the UK and the US sellers were all giving ridiculous timelines for getting it to me. Jesse kindly sent me a free autographed copy.

At the same time I ordered my own copy from amazon.co.uk so that I could pass on the favour and it has now arrived. (We've been passing on kindnesses since long before "pay it forward" was a catchphrase.) If you would like it, please tell me why in the comments and on Wednesday I'll pick someone to send it to. (You have until Wednesday 6pm GMT, which is 1pm EST as far as I know.) It may not get posted till the weekend, though, as I'm still not quite up to scratch.

The book is a wild zombie romp, rather more gory than I like but funny enough to get me past that. The story is about a couple who save their marriage by fighting zombies and if you think Shaun of the Dead you're in the right area. Everyone who came to the chat had enjoyed the book - which is unusual for an Evil Editor chat!

That does sound like a cute book, and you're right! EE's crowd doesn't usually all agree.

However, I won't enter your contest because someone with more enthusiasm for getting this book should win! I'm just mildly interested. :)

What a lovely thing to do. Bloggers are so generous.

Kitty, you're the only contender so far and you seem very enthusiastic. I did say I'd give it till Wednesday though...

jj, that's very kind of you! The more people who want the book the harder it will be to decide.

Ann, I really am just passing on a favour. I thought Jesse was wonderfully generous and I've ended up with an autographed copy!

Hi,

Sounds like a lot of fun. I loved Shaun of the Dead! As to why I should be graced with such a wonderful prize : because I am a zombie trying to save my marriage by fighting the living and I need tips! Actually, none of that's true but, heh, I make stuff up!

Simon, hehe! And very good you are at it too!

OK, time's up. I declare the winner is:

Old Kitty and
Simon Kewin

There is no way I could choose between you! If you both send me your addresses then I'll get a book to both of you.

This is fun!

Woo hoo! That's wonderful, thanks fairyhedgehog. I shall send my address post haste!

Simon, Hope you enjoy it!

If I was into Zombies I would love this book, but since I'm not I waited until after the award to comment, so a more deserving soul would win it.

David, good plan! I'm not into zombies either and I'd have never read this if it hadn't been for the Evil Editor chat - I was really surprised to find I liked it! I'll get the sequel when it's out in the UK. (We always have to wait.)

But what about books written and published in Great Britain?

fairyhedgehog said...

David, true we have the advantage there but there never seem to be enough of them!
