I'm done

Circe Surfs the Web, after John William Waterhouse

I wrote 50,000 words and now I'm done.

Well, I'm not really done. I've started reading through the story and trying to work out what the plot is. I'm not correcting typos (well, all right I am but I'm trying not to), I'm trying to make the story make sense.

I expected to feel pleased but I mostly feel tired and relieved.

That's awesome! I'm proud to have witnessed a NaNo win, even if I'll never pull it off myself :-)

Wonderful! You must be really proud. Congratulations!

Karen, thanks! I think it still feels like Nano until midnight tonight. The urge to work on it will probably dry up then!

Sandra, thank you!

DJK, congrats to you as well. I don't think mine will be a full length novel.

Kitty, ooh pompoms! And Charlie in a rah-rah skirt! Now I'm really happy!

Myrna, thank you!

The Words Crafter, congrats to you too, and you're still hard at it then.

Thank you, Golden Eagle!

Woo Hoo! You did it!!!!

That is so very awesome.

My NaNo novel from 2005 is still waiting to be "fixed". I've tried to start that process a couple of times, but it needs sooooo much work.

Resting now is good. I took off until February back then. Not suggesting you wait that long.
:-)

Sarah Laurenson said...

Oh and I agree - that picture is wonderful.

fairyhedgehog said...

Sarah, thank you! None of my Nano "novels" is properly edited but they've all been fun to do.

Great stuff!

Just hope the chains on your seat haven't rusted in the unclement weather...

fairyhedgehog said...

Thanks, Whirl. It wasn't the weather that rusted them.

Well done you! Great stuff.

Thanks, Santa Kewin!

CONGRATS!!!!!
I am finished as well ;-)
I need a break, editing has to wait some days (tho the story is not told yet, but next year I start writing on this story again).
And I love the images :-)
I feel somehow empty after nano - a weird feeling...
Best wishes!

fairyhedgehog said...

Ivy, thank you and congrats to you too! I can understand the empty feeling.

Huzzah! Speaking as someone who has succeeded four times and failed thrice, I know this is a significant achievement. Well done.

Thanks, Peter!

Ana Goncalves said...

YAY! Woooot! Congrats on winning NaNo! I know how you feel that is why I have not returned to it since the day I finished it on Tuesday. I trust that the days of editing it will start soon, but not just yet! Enjoy the free time. :D

fairyhedgehog said...

Hi Ana, Congrats to you too! I'm sorry we never managed to sort out an Epsom write-in. That would have been fun!

Ana Goncalves said...

Hey, thanks. :) That's alright, perhaps next time or even meet at some writers group sometime in the near future? I see you are hoping to make Saturday's NaNo Party. :) If you do have a cheer for me, as I'll be on a course tomorrow so can't make it, and last night didn't attend neither because of the vast amount of snow and ice overnight. Take care :)

fairyhedgehog said...

Ana, it's a shame about the snow stopping you getting to the TGIO party yesterday - I'm not sure if I'll make it tomorrow for similar reasons!

I hope your course goes well!

Jayne said...

Well done you! And I love the 'enhanced' Waterhouse picture - Waterhouse is one of my favourite artists, the Pre-Raph's my favourite Art movement, and Dr Pepper just rocks, so it's all win for me!

fairyhedgehog said...

Thanks, Jayne! And I agree it's a seriously cool picture!

Kate said...

A belated congratulations! I hope you've had some time to rest and maybe have a sense-making dream about your story!

fairyhedgehog said...

Thanks, Kate! Now I wonder how I get myself to have a dream about it.

Sylvia said...

I'm sorry to be so late to the party but CONGRATS from me too, and well done!

fairyhedgehog said...

Sylvia, thank you! Now to catch up on all the Christmas preparations I've been ignoring for the last month!

I'm totally behind on my blog-reading so I hadn't seen this yet. I think it's fabulous that you finished. That's incredible. Well done!
