Minions meet again!

If you've been following Jane's blog then you may know that a few of Evil Editor's minions are thinking of meeting up again - or you may not, because we talked about it in the comments.

We're planning on meeting on 4th July at the South Bank, London, England. If you want to be in on it then why not let us know either here or over at Whittering On?

Last time we had a wonderful time and you can read about and see pictures here. I know that some of you can't make it because England is too far to come. We'll miss you.

Color me jealous. *makes mean, shifty eyes* I shall now plot how to make it rain bucketsfull on you guys that day. And sleet. And apocalytic earthquakes and screaming minions of the demonic realms thronging the streets.

Sorry...have I been reading too much dark fantasy lately?

fairyhedgehog said...

He he! Don't worry, it's England. You don't need to do a rain dance to make it rain! (I can't guarantee the other stuff though.) Wish you could be there.

Lucky people!

But Mrs. "Arris can't go to Paris--or London...

Stacia said...

Just wanted to say hi, and thanks for your comment on Bernita's blog. :-)

And sigh, that's going to be just a couple of weeks before I hut the shores o England again. Sad. I miss hanging out on EE's blog. :-(

Wish you could, Bernita!

Stacia, what a shame that the timing's all wrong!

Hi
I love the pics of last year's meet up!!! I hope you have a fab time again - it's a Sunday - it's a work day for me! But I hope the sun shines and the wine flows for your get together!
Take care
x

Such a shame it's a work day! I was hoping you'd be able to make it.

I just got a happy kick out of reading your post from last year, FH!

It was such a good day. The thing that's hard to decribe unless you've been to one of these meetups is how utterly comfortable they are. Friendships through a common bond of a passionate interest in, for us, writing and reading, (and cats and chocolate, of course!) and ongoing dialogue through thick and thin, are strong friendships, regardless of how they were initially formed. I kinds knew we would have a great time getting together last year, and I bet you all did, too.

But it was never once like meeting a stranger - no awkwardness, not even for a minute, and I loved that. Can't wait to see you all again, in just over a month.

Boo! Hiss! But hey, if anyone should be passing Texas way ...

Hope you guys have a blast! And remember to raise a glass to absent minions, would ya?

I can't wait for the day when I have the money to say, "Honey, I gotta go to England to meet up with one of my blog buddies. It's tea time."

Until then, I'll just leave my comments here ;-(

It really is strange how it isn't strange at all to meet! I'm so excited to be doing it again, Robin.

Phoenix and Wendy, I do wish you could be there! We're going to have a very long list of absent friends to toast this year.

I'm arriving home the day before, but if I'm not dead I'll be interested. Not that I'm the most talkative of minions, but I am still a minion.

fairyhedgehog said...

Yay, Polenth! That is good news! Do you want to email me and we'll add you to the list so we can keep you in the loop? My address is in the contact page (link at the top).

Oh, to be in Jolly Ole England again with the Jolly Ole Minions! As an added bonus, that will be only two days after England are eliminated in the quarterfinals.

I am desperately jealous.

Oh Peter, I wish you could be here again this time! We'll all miss you!

Wow! I hope you all have fun. I've been a terrible unfaithful minion lately- somehow, when I made the commitment to write every day this year, my participation dropped off in a few other places. Have a great time!

fairyhedgehog said...

Hey, we'd still love to see you! I guess it's too far to come, though.

A huge fan of hedgehogs I saw your blog mentioned on Readerly Person's site and had to visit. A great blog, you post on cats as well, I've enjoyed visiting.

Hi Petty, I popped across to your blog too and I loved your comments on the "age of the computer" question. I'll have to leave a comment.

So you're a cat lover too. Nice to see you in here!

He, you have such a great blog :)

fairyhedgehog said...

Why thank you! I've popped across to look at your blog and it's very pretty.

Hey fairyhedgehog,
Hope you are well!
Sounds exciting.
South Bank is just round the corner from me on the underground. Interestingly about a few weeks ago I met up with some writers from the UK from a writers forum, for the first time. This sounds like a great idea. I may be tempted to come along, but I ask you if its okay first? I'll keep you posted.
Just on a side of books, I've got 6 that I no longer want, if you are interested in any of them. Can be found here:
http://expressiveworld.com/book-gifts/
Hope you are having a nice week.

fairyhedgehog said...

Ana, if you live just round the corner then why not? Thanks for the offer of the books, although none of them grab me particularly. I tend to go mostly for sci fi if I get the chance!

I don't know a thing about Evil Editor, but I do remember reading about this meet-up on JaneyV's blog last year. I'm so tempted, although it is usually a family requirement that I fry chicken on July 4th -- absurd though it is to celebrate that holiday in England.

fairyhedgehog said...

Now isn't that interesting? I could have sworn I knew you through Evil Editor and it turns out I know you through Jane!

I wouldn't want to put temptation in your way but it's going to be fun.

For anyone who's coming and missed their emails: 12ish, Giraffe, London's South Bank, today.
