Volcanic dust threatens aircraft

The Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland has erupted again for the second time in a few weeks. I first heard of it as a news clip warning of flight cancellations in the UK. There is a huge cloud of volcanic ash heading our way and it is dangerous to aircraft. I hope sylvia wasn't planning on flying anywhere today.

The poor people living in the region of the volcano have huge floods to contend with and many have had to be evacuated.

We are so small and vulnerable on this huge planet.

I just heard this on the news this morning. UK air space closed. I understand Irish air space is restricted until 6AM tomorrow.

Mother Nature is acting out a bit lately.

Ann, she is indeed.

Lexi, I know!

And yet, the things that kill the largest number of humans seem to be done by humans as well - or else things we could have prevented.

David, I don't know the figures but you could be right. When we do it to ourselves it seems so stupid. I find it hard to accept that warmongering is as much a feature of human nature as compassion is.
