Win a cuddly Cthulu

Halloween is on its way. For me, it's the Nano kick-off party and the chance to meet some of the other crazies who will be writing a novel in a month. For you, it could be the chance to win a cuddly Cthulu.

I would love to enter writtenwyrdd's competition but I have no aptitude at all for writing horror. Now if it was sci fi...

I'm not a horror writer either (or reader, for that matter), but I so love the cuddly Cthulu thing I had to write and submit. My version of a Hail Mary pass, I guess. I just like plush things.

What's a Hail Mary pass?

I can't do horror either. I definitely prefer SciFi but I can't write it. I have the utmost of respect for those who do it well.

Thanks for your message on my blog. As you see I'm alive and well - just getting back into the work swing of things. As always shifting priorities mess up my blogging but all is well.

Isn't Cuddly Cthulu an oxymoron?

Sorry. The "Hail Mary Pass" is something which came from American Football. It's when there is only a few seconds left in the game and the team with the ball needs to score a touchdown from a long distance in order to win.

Basically, it is an act of desperation, with incredibly low odds of succeeding.

My brother loves to use the phrase.

Cuddly Cthulhu is adorable. I'd be sorely tempted to enter if I didn't already have one.

I neither write, read, nor watch horror - don't even care for the commercials - but the little stuffed Cthulu is rather cute, in a spider sort of way.

Jane, it's good to see you back, even if it might only be temporary.

Bevie, thanks for explaining.

Sillyboy, you can always enter anyway. Then you could have stereo Cthulu.

Lisa, I think most cuddly toys are cute, except the microbes.

No excuses! make it sf then, just add something monstery or similar. I don't quibble on definitions, and I am not biased against any form of spec fic if the speculative elements are in charge. Rowr!

PS thanks for the mention!

I half wrote a horror story this morning so I may yet come up with something!
