Pretty up your comments

If you want to use bold and italics in your comments, or to add a link, you don't need to know html. All you need to do is:

Download Firefox (if you're not already using it).
Download Write Area.

When you want to comment on a post, right click on the comment area and choose 'Edit in a Write Area' from the menu. You will get a new box that gives you lots of little formatting buttons that you use the same way as the ones in Blogger. When you've finished your comment, click 'Save' and the html is written into the comment box for you.

You can't use colours or any other html that Blogger doesn't allow but you can do bold, italic and links. I found this addon through Pharyngula.

Well, that doesn't work for me and I have Firefox. *shrugs* Are you using a Mac?

Ditto.

It looks great, though.

I'll try it out again later.

I'm not using a Mac. I have no idea why it works on my pc and not on others. Drat! Back to the drawing board.

I've just figured it out: I didn't read the instructions.

Seems Blogger is fairly limited regarding permissible html.

For italics, bold and links, it's great, but for flashing gif images of donkeys, not so good.

My fave Firefox add-on of the moment is Foxmarks. And can't you tell I didn't use Write Area for this post?

No flashing donkeys? How terrible!

I've been told by people I trust that Firefox is currently more secure than Internet Explorer. I like it anyway.
