Blogger Follower Issues

Thanks to Jennifer, through Sarah, for this explanation of why we're all apparently losing followers.
If you use Blogger as your platform, I'm sure you've noticed that your follower count is down. Apparently Blogger has changed everybody's followers to "anonymous" and anonymous followers don't show. If everyone can do these simple steps, we can all get our followers back:

Go to dashboard, you'll see "Blogs I'm Following"

Scroll down to the bottom of that list and click on manage.

Then you'll see that all the drop down menus have been changed to anonymous. You just need to change them back to public.

Hopefully we can get the word out, so everyone can take these steps. I hope this doesn't happen again!

I've changed my list back to public. What a cheek though, to change it without telling us! It took me forever to tick all those boxes.

So, if you thought you'd managed to lose me, tough luck. I'm still following you. Is that creepy, or what?

Every time I hear an eerie slurping, I look over my shoulder for a phantasmal hedgehog.

Most times, it's only Geoff with a bowl of jelly.

You mean all you can see is Geoff with a bowl of jelly...

See, Blogger is just plain bad. Making scarlet-blue sob! That's the mark of evil.

That's weird. And pointless, too, isn't it - why would someone follow you likke a stalker - and even if they wanted to - if all you had to do was 'flip a switch' to see them. The whole thing sounds silly.

Glad you figured it out!!

laughingwolf said...

actually, that's not true, cuz you still don't appear on mine, while i see i'm still on yours :(

fairyhedgehog said...

Robin - it is silly!

Laughingwolf - That could be because I'm not following you. Sorry.

I had noticed and was glad of your return! We beasties need to stay toegether.

McK - The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days, my mad existence
I kept my promise; don't keep your distance

Oops, channelling Andrew Lloyd Webber there.

I didn't leave though. Blogger just hid me.

The very strange thing was that yesterday when I looked I wasn't following anyone - publicly or otherwise - and today my list has magically returned!

Blogger is not only bad - it's devious and possibly even fiendish.

fairyhedgehog said...

Definitely fiendish. I can't even unsubcribe from any blogs in my google reader. Or maybe that's a google problem. I've tried unsubscribing but the feeds just come back after a while. There are a couple of blogs I subscribed to twice by mistake and I get all their feeds twice all the time!

The interwebs are great but they have their little quirks.

Huh. I haven't had any problems with Blogger as of late. The only one I've experienced is when my little follower thingie will tell me I'm not following any blogs. But they always come back. Then again, I've never tried to stop following a blog.

Thanks, I didn't know what had happened, only that it was all different. I'm not technovanced and have trouble with the simplest things on the computer sometimes.
So this will help, I hope. cuz, I'd like it back to normal.
Thank you. Jennifer and sarah too.

freddie - So, Blogger like you. What is your secret?

Linda - I always used to think I was good with the computers but I can't keep up with how fast things change.

Robin B. said...

Hey there,

Hope you're feeling OK!

Hi Robin! Thanks for asking. I'm seeing my doctor today so I hope he'll be able to suggest some things to help.
