Christmas Cats

Rufus has been having fun. His help with the present wrapping was beyond belief. Then he decided to investigate all the presents under the tree so I've been wrapping and rewrapping his toys so that he's in a constant frenzy of ripped paper. As long as I spray everything with catnip, he's happy.

His Christmas dinner was gourmet cat food sprinkled with dried fish flakes and I think he rather overdid it, judging by his glassy-eyed appearance when he'd finished.

Bonnie has been behaving like a lady. The only one in this house, I have to say.

I think Rufus is asleep in that last photo. He has the disquieting habit of sleeping with his eyes open.

Hope you're all having a wonderful time too.

A nice pair of felines. Rufus looks a lot like our Firestar, save he has more white. I like the first picture of Rufus. He has a calm look, but it's like he's daring you to invade his space.

Glad your Christmas went well. Ours did, too.

Great photos. What wonderful darlings you have there. And so helpful, too. Especially Rufus.

Mom just left for home after a 9 day visit. It was wonderful, but I'm ready to have my space back. The house heater quit sometime during the night. Luckily we live somewhere relatively warm - in the 40's tonight. The dogs and the cat have been plastered to our sides and slipping down under the blankets to share body heat. It's a great night for some heavy duty snuggling.

The Pooch had a lot of fun ripping up the paper off her present, although she did get very territorial over the tasty bone we gave her and had to be told off. She had a lot of leftover turkey for a treat. I hope that I don't end up paying for spoiling her when it comes to garden clean-up duty later.

Hope you had a fun day!

I'm down to one cat, who leaves the tree alone. My cat who passed on a year ago used to get great joy out of de-ornamenting the tree. It was pretty amusing where I'd sometimes find ornaments--and the reason the majority on the lower half of the tree are plastic or resin!

They may look cute...

Bonnie needs to learn that walking on people repeatedly in the middle of the night is not fun.

When they're not sleeping on those wicker platform things, do your cats get dressed up as Gladiators and try to boff each other with oven gloves?

Oooh, I love your cat pictures!

I need to get some of that catnip spray you mentioned.

Our cat Madison has a catnip plant she nibbles from - or I'd like to say she nibbles from - in fact, the little stinker yanks on it and the poor plant stays half dead.

And yeah with the walking on humans in the night - we just got back in town last night, and even though we had a very sweet catsitter look in on Miss Mad, she was crazed when we came home. In and out the door, and then slept on me most of the night, or in the bend of my legs.

I have to mention again that I love the name Rufus. And Rufus and Bonnie together - great name combination! Remember that musical pairing up that Eric Clapton did in the 70s - Delaney and Bonnie and Friends? That's what your kitty's name pairing keeps reminding me of, and that's so nice.

Aw, pet helpers. I have one of those, but it's a dog. She likes to help me with my physio exercises. Not.

Did you try wrapping Rufus? It almost seems like he's lying there, begging to be wrapped.

They're still adorable.

Whirl - I wish they did. Instead, Rufus attacks poor Bonnie. He's a real bully.

Robin - Glad you like the names. Madison sounds like a real sweetie.

McK - So it's not just felines that make amazing assistants.

Freddie - What a good idea, I should have tried that.

My cat also helped with the wrapping... and helped with eating the smoked salmon...
